There are a number of reasons that we have decided to make all our music available on the website.

First of all is the unethical state of affairs in the dwindling recording industry. I have been making music for more than 25 years, recorded many albums with different bands and musicians and have NEVER made a cent out of all these recordings. You may laugh now and think it's all his fault, and you even might be right. The deplorable way SHIVA SHAKTI and SHIVA'S QUINTESSENCE have been treated by their British music labels, who to this day refuse to even talk to us let alone give us figures of albums sold, compel us to take some measurements. We can't afford to do legal battle with them and we also have no intention to do so. We are independent musicians, record, mix and master all our music ourselves and are not at all interested in working with crooks and unethical people in the music industry anymore. We know their positions grow weaker by the day as people don't buy their CDs no longer, preferring downloads online. As we do not sell thousands of copies anyway and because our music is very special and produced with much care, I don't want to make it downloadable in a lossy format. Therefore we recommend strongly you buy all our cds from this website by letting us know what you want via email.
